What is mining CSI Indaba?

The Eastern Cape Mining CSI Indaba is an independent intergraded sustainable investment platform that seeks to attract investors into the Eastern Cape. It seeks to capitalise attracting investors from the Mining, Energy, Technology and Agricultural Sectors. In consideration of the Social Labour Plan (SLP) and CSI, the Eastern Cape Province could use these investor and partner opportunities as a gateway to a cost sustainable platform for mines and other related businesses to start looking at the Eastern Cape as a province of priority, where investor relations and opportunities could be directed towards.The ultimate goal of this conference is to reposition the Eastern Cape as a destination of opportunities. Proper co-ordination and the relevant partnerships formed; investments in mining exploration opportunities in the Eastern Cape; and identification of areas for economic development through IDP at provincial municipal level being aligned with SLP and CSI opportunities from private sector, will ensure a positive economic development through job creation, portable skills training and business opportunities and identification.

OVERVIEW OF PORTABLE MINING SKILLS AND ARTISAN ACADEMY

The Portable Mining Skills and Artisan Academy seeks to mobilise resources and partners to embark on programs and projects that empower people. The Academy will provide quality education and positively influence individuals by equipping them with the knowledge necessary to effectively carry out duties aimed at industries such as Mining and related businesses. The Academy will also provide training in infrastructure related work to women in order to equip them with the skills and knowledge to operate heavy machinery and a platform to acquire heavy duty transportation licenses. By using portable skills training in rural communities, we can help improve prospects and help advance livelihoods through either formal employment or self-employment. The aim of portable skills training is to provide life-long skills that each individual can use to the benefit of themselves, their families, and even their communities.
